Hi Everyone
Kerry Lawrence asked me to put details of my Greyhound and lurcher training classes on here in case anyone is interested in coming along. I usually train at two halls in south Birmingham but due to Covid 19 we stopped. We have now been able to re-start training classes from yesterday (18 July) as Ruth has let us hire the sand run for Saturday mornings. Please ring me on 0774 7754759 if you’re interested. Classes for starters are at 8.30 to 9.15am, at the Sand Run at Daybreaks Kennels, via Bham Exiles Rugby Club, B92 9ED. Class cost is £20 the first time you come which pays for 4 sessions and then it’s £5 a week.
Ruth provides the tea, coffee, biscuits etc. for a donation so we take a mug (disposables available if you forget) and bring a chair too.
We’ll access the sand run only from the Birmingham Exiles Rugby club car park ie from Old Damson Lane, off Damson Lane, B92 9ED. If you’ve not been before you drive down Old Damson Lane towards the Coventry Rd (it’s one way at the Cov Rd end so you can’t turn into it), look for the low brick walls edging the driveway entrance on your right and turn in there. Follow the drive down to the clubhouse and park, if you then walk back a little way up the drive away from the Coventry Rd there’s a path on your right which leads into the sand run at the back of Daybreaks Kennels – please come in there, there’ll be no entrance from Daybreaks.
We’ll need to observe social distancing, stop on time to get everyone in & out, bring a toy for your hound, bring a chair if you want to and everything else you’ll need for your hound. Liz will note who’s there for the required list of attendees and I’ll put a box or bucket out for you to drop your money into – please bring the correct change if possible.
Ruth has gazebos for shade and shelter but if the weather is atrocious and it’s rainy and cold then please check with me on 0774 7754759 (text or call) if we’re going ahead. We’ll hopefully be at Daybreaks for a few weeks until things settle down. Looking forward to seeing you all again and getting back to normal-ish.
