Archie
Archie is the gorgeous bull Lurcher that came into the care of GPUK back in March 2020 after an altercation with another dog meant his devastated owners had no choice. Since then he’s made himself very comfy in his foster home and is a real character! He loves his toys and getting lots of fuss from everyone he meets and has a beautiful smile that he shares with his favourite people!
Anxious around other dogs which results in some negative behaviour, he’s been attending a weekly class run by GPUK’s behaviourist Julie and is making great progress! He still has the odd grumble at other dogs in class but settles quickly and yesterday he even settled enough to lie down in the room with 20 plus other hounds! Here he is enjoying some off lead time at a secure field which he absolutely loves.
He is a super smart boy as well as being very handsome. He’s also doing really well in his weekly training class learning to be calm around his houndy class mates. Archie is looking for his forever home with experienced owners who will continue his training. He would need to be the only dog in the home (definitely no cats or other small furries!) Archie loves his walks but prefers quieter places without lots of other dogs around. Secure fields are his favourite places as he can stretch his legs and snuffle through the long grass. He also loves his toys and will entertain himself throwing them around.
Archies a real cuddle monster who likes to be in the company of his people so would also need a home with someone around a lot who can build up leaving him gradually. Whoever adopts him will be so lucky as he is such a character and a really wonderful boy.
