There’s been some big news for the West Sussex branch of GPUK. Here are some words from Kerry:
“I’d like to say a special thank you to Sarah and her West Sussex team. Whilst I’ve had to make a difficult decision to close that branch of GPUK, the West Sussex team have been instrumental over the last 3 years in helping many of our hounds find their forever homes. I wish Sarah all the very best and will support her in any way I can when she opens her own rescue.”
And so, the Southern Sighthound Rescue has been born! Here’s some words from Sarah:
“Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to my amazing friend Kerry Lawrence for a fabulous five years fostering and setting up a branch, at my premises in West Sussex, for Greyhound Protection UK.
It’s been one hell of a ride, there’s been blood, sweat and tears (mainly mine lol) but I wouldn’t change a thing, I’ve learnt a lot from Kerry, she’s been a great mentor and is an amazing advocate for Greyhounds. I’m relieved that I can and will still be picking her brains moving forward and am grateful for the support she’s given me.
Being a part of GPUK got me through an incredibly difficult time in my life after losing my sister, shortly followed by my nephew and it seemed only fitting to set up Southern Sighthound Rescue in her memory.
Lisa worked with some of the most challenging rescue environments in Romania, she set up many spay and neuter campaigns and saved and rehomed numerous dogs, she has had several articles published about her work, in fact, it was Lisa that introduced me to Kerry (she has a lot to answer for lol)
Anyway I hope you will all follow our new page and lend us some much needed support,
Sarah x”
