An update from Kerry on Winter, racing name Cure…
“I’m sure you will all remember this beautiful boy was exported to Spain late last year. We found him for sale around the end of December.
Anyway since then I have had his old owner in Ireland email me and call and message me. We had a very very frank conversation about Winter and why he was sent to Spain. He was sold for €400 for a life of hell. Apparently his owner didn’t know what happened in Spain and he sent me photos of Winter while in his care. And yes he was in better condition and his owner wanted me to remove his name from Fb and clear his name or legal action would be taken.
I have refused and pointed out that he still sent him if he knew the horrors or not in Spain so it’s on him.
Anyway, Winter has still been struggling on his leg so I asked his foster to take him to a different vet for X-rays as I was sure his hock was broken. After six different X-rays, it was confirmed that his hock was broken and fused together without any medical care. So not only has he that horrific wound his bone has broken. Angry doesn’t come close to how I’m feeling. We have sent another £500 today to Spain towards his care which is ongoing so if anyone would like to help it’s much appreciated. His leg wound is healing slowly

Neither the racing industry nor his owner in Ireland has even offered a penny towards his care. He has had all bloods done too.”
